Spaced Magazine’s recent trip to Southern California was truly unforgettable. We are thrilled to offer you an inside look at how to fully enjoy these destinations as you plan your upcoming trip or to ignite some inspiration to start planning one.
SAN DIEGO
We kicked off the trip in San Diego in the most exhilarating way we could think of.
One of the most respected drop zones in the United States, Skydive San Diego hosts the newest, safest, and largest jumpships in the skydiving industry. Nerves are inevitable, but the level of expertise, safety, and confidence the instructors bring makes the experience nothing but exhilarating. The drive to this experience is beautiful, and every moment at the drop zone felt like a high, but likely in part due to the adrenaline.

Nicknamed the “Jewel” of San Diego due to its luxurious lifestyle and natural beauty.
We strolled through the streets of La Jolla Village which is lined with posh shops and waterfront restaurants. Our choice was Cove House where we rested for a vibrant and satisfying meal before heading out to explore the rest of this seaside town.

After driving along the coast to find some of SoCal’s best Birria, we settled at one of Del Mar’s Beaches, Powerhouse Park. Here we watched toddlers, teens, and seniors play, relax, and enjoy as the clouds began to break.
We were hesitant when approaching Agave Birria as it is connected to a gas station, but it turned out to be some of the best Birria of all time.

MINI ROAD TRIP, SD TO LA
Starting in Coronado, Spaced Magazine decided to turn a typically 3-hour drive from San Diego to LA into an entire day packed with experience. It turned out to be a pinnacle of the entire trip, with each moment seamlessly flowing into the next, creating an unforgettable adventure.
As we drove to Northern San Diego, we stopped in Oceanside to grab breakfast at Communal Coffee. This oasis of a restaurant, which also functions as a flower shop, couldn’t have been a better start to this magical day.

“Where Canyon and Sea Meet”
Somewhat convinced this place is a figment of our imagination.
After a long day in Laguna Beach and nearing the feeling of ravenous, Harvest Laguna just happened to be one of the closest dining options nearby. As we approached the restaurant, it became evident that we were in for an idyllic surprise. Harvest is situated inside The Ranch at Laguna Beach, an unparalleled resort with enchanting views and landscapes. It’s difficult not to believe in fate when stumbling upon such wonderful experiences serendipitously.
