In New York, 1 in 7 children face hunger and 1.8 million New Yorkers are food insecure.

EvLovesNYC is a fully volunteer run non-profit organization bringing meals to New Yorkers in need. A few friends began this mission at the beginning of the pandemic after hearing about the lack of food and access to soup kitchens when Covid-19 hit New York City. They decided to take matters into their own hands and created what quickly became a powerhouse of positive change.

Since 2020, EvLovesNYC has provided over 400,000 meals, and even more as you read this. They serve over 75 organizations who work with the most challenged populations in the city. EvLovesNYC understands that not everyone can get to the soup kitchens available so they work with people in all 5 boroughs who know where those truly hungry are.

As you can see, they make delicious and nutritious high quality meals prepared with intense care. They are allergy sensitive, diet type sensitive, and religious sensitive, making inclusive options for everyone they reach.

EvLovesNYC faces many of the current challenges non-profit and volunteer run organizations do across New York, but specifically inflation. A meal that cost them 80 cents to make 1 year ago is closer to $2.20 today, with the same ingredients.

Please spread the love and support in any way you can. Donate, volunteer, educate others about food insecurity, or even just share on your social media platforms. They are a registered 501(C)(3) non profit and all your donations are 100% tax deductible.

EVLovesNYC is a delightful community and experience. We volunteer here as much as possible and hope to see some of you there!

Our first day with City Harvest, at the Melrose Mobile Market in the Bronx, was extremely inspirational. It allowed us to witness their remarkable capabilities firsthand. In just a single morning, the market served over 500 families on-site and supplied 2 agencies with more than 300 servings of food. This experience fundamentally altered our perception of what can be achieved when a few dedicated individuals come together to make a difference.

Millions of New Yorkers walk by community fridges or pantries every day without even knowing! It may be the simplest way to add giving back into your week.

Collect your food scraps throughout the week, invite a friend to go on a walk, and bring your food scraps together to a composting site near you!

Composting turns your food scraps and plant waste into clean energy while reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills.
